Care Home Sanctuary Garden for Residents and Families

This garden design project focused on transforming a neglected care home garden into a serene sanctuary for residents and family visitors. The aim was to create a peaceful, low-maintenance space that would promote well-being and provide visual interest throughout the year.

Plant selections were chosen for their resilience and long-season appeal. Hydrangea paniculata Little Lime offers a stunning display of lime green flowers that shift to cream and blush-pink from July to November, providing attractive seedheads through winter. Carex morrowii ‘Ice Dance’ adds texture with its striking variegated foliage, while Geranium Patricia brings vibrant magenta pops of colour. The hardy, drought-tolerant Erigeron karvinskianus softens the garden's edges with its daisy-like blooms. Taxus Baccata balls create evergreen structure, and bulbs planted throughout the garden promise fresh visual interest from February to April.

This garden has been designed with longevity in mind, offering a calming space with low-maintenance beauty and year-round interest for residents and visitors alike.
