Rural semi-detached front and back gardens

The client wanted to reimagine the front and rear gardens of their renovated rural semi-detached home, creating spaces that blend with the interior. The rear garden presented challenges with raised beds under mature conifers, shedding pine needles and requiring hardy plants suited to dry, acidic soil.

The design incorporates Taxus Baccata for evergreen foliage, Anemanthele lessoniana for height and orange tones, and Euphorbia amygdaloides var. robbiae for dry shade. A multistem Amelanchier tree adds year-round interest, with spring blooms and autumn colour. Geranium Rozanne and Geum 'Totally Tangerine' bring seasonal pops of colour.

The sunny front garden features English Lavender 'Hidcote' and Stipa tenuissima along the driveway, leading to a seating area. Planting around the front door includes Achillea 'Terracotta', Verbena bonariensis, and Geranium Rozanne, adding vibrant hues.

This design creates low-maintenance gardens with year-round appeal.
